HOW WERE YOU FIRST INTRODUCED TO THIS  TYPE OF WORK/ARTISTIC PRACTICE - AND WHAT  DID YOU ENJOY ABOUT YOUR EARLY  EXPLORATION OF IT?

I had a Great Aunt when that was an artist. When I was about 10 years old, she sat me down in front of one of her paintings and she held my hand and we painted a small corner of it. That is a very vivid memory for me. When I was 25 and I was on my OE living in London, I was living next to The Camden Art Centre and I met some tutors and it all started then. I enjoyed the enthusiasm of my tutor, I recall that very strongly.

HOW HAS YOUR WORK/ARTISTIC PRACTICE CHANGED AND DEVELOPED OVER THE YEARS? WHAT FACTORS DO YOU THINK AFFECTED THIS?

Just by constant practice. Reading and learning and doing it, every week for 52 years.

PLEASE DESCRIBE WHERE YOU WORK FROM? WHAT DO YOU FIND SPECIAL ABOUT LIVING OUT WEST? 

My work space I would say, is just a normal studio with plenty of space to spread out. It does have a beautiful view that looks out to Blockhouse Bay and Green Bay. I enjoy the access to libraries. I go to the library every week and read all the art books. I get a great deal of ideas and inspiration and fresh ideas from the art books.

WHAT CAN VISITORS EXPECT TO SEE WHEN  THEY VISIT YOUR STUDIO DURING OSW?  

They may be confused by so much to look at! Many of my works are throughout my house, so visitors will be able to wander through and also see my studio. People may mainly be looking at the view out the window, it’s a very attractive space.

All the great coffee shops. You will usually find me at either The Base of Vivo.
